Guru Parampara
The unbroken sacred chain, from the Himalayan peaks to the heart of the devotee
Home / Guru Parampara
In the Srividya tradition, the Guru Parampara is not merely a historical record. It is a living current of divine Shakti flowing through an unbroken chain of masters. To receive initiation is to step into this eternal river. Guru Sakalamaa (Sri Purnashakthyamba) carries the rare honour of dual parampara, two of India's most revered lineages converging in a single teacher.

The Sri Vidyaranya
Guru Tradition
श्री विद्यारण्य परम्परा
This lineage draws its name and its spirit from Sage Vidyaranya, the great fourteenth-century Srividya adept and Shankaracharya of Sringeri who is among the most celebrated masters of the Sri Chakra tradition. A prolific scholar and a realised practitioner, Vidyaranya authored the revered Panchadashi and held the living transmission of Srividya at its highest. His legacy gave this parampara both its philosophical depth and its uncompromising commitment to authentic transmission.
Rooted in the Dakshinachara Srividya tradition and tracing its authority through the great Shankaracharyas, this lineage carries the complete science of Srividya Tantra in its traditional, initiation-based form. Guru Sakalamaa holds diksha in this parampara, bringing its full depth and ritual integrity to each student she guides.

Where Two Rivers Meet
Guru Sakalamaa (Sri Purnashakthyamba) carries the rare distinction of dual parampara, initiated in both the Himalayan Bharati tradition of Swami Rama and the Sri Vidyaranya Guru tradition. These two great rivers of wisdom, one flowing from the Himalayan peaks and the other through the living legacy of Sage Vidyaranya and the Sringeri Shankaracharyas, converge in her teaching, giving students access to an unparalleled depth of transmission.
